Power and sockets for shops and offices

A business that has run out of sockets, or needs a dedicated supply for new equipment, needs extra commercial power fitting.

  • The shop has no spare socketsTills, fridges, displays and cleaners all want a socket, and extension leads are already everywhere.
  • The office needs more desksNew desks, printers and screens need sockets on the right walls, not a trail of leads across the floor.
  • A machine needs its own circuitA compressor, kiln, oven or charger that trips the board wants a dedicated circuit, not a shared socket.
  • The layout of the premises is changingA refit, extra room or new counter means power has to move with the furniture, not sit where it used to.

What happens on the day

TMB Electrics arrives, isolates the circuits for the new work, fits the sockets and supplies, then tests and leaves the certificate.

  • Arrival and isolationThe premises are walked, the circuits for the new work are isolated, and the working area is protected.
  • Fitting the new powerNew cables, sockets and isolators go in around your working day, with other circuits left on where they can be.
  • Testing and handoverThe new circuits are tested, power is restored, and you are left with the certificate for the work.

Commercial power & socket installation questions

Still have a question?

How much does commercial power and socket installation cost?

It starts at £1,000. Socket count, cable runs and a new circuit from the board change the total. TMB Electrics writes the price before work starts.

Will the whole premises lose power?

No. Only the circuits being extended are isolated where that is possible. Lighting and power on other circuits stay on so the rest of the premises can keep running.

Do I need a new fuse board as well?

Only if the existing board has no spare ways or cannot take the extra load. A consumer unit replacement is a separate TMB Electrics service. Extra sockets on a healthy board with spare ways do not need a new unit.

What certificate do I get at the end?

You get the certificate the new work requires. Added sockets on an existing circuit and a new circuit from the board need different documents. TMB Electrics completes the one that matches the work done.

What happens after I book?

TMB Electrics confirms the premises, the sockets you need and a written price. The visit is planned around the property. New power is then fitted, tested and left with its certificate.
